May 19Th she would have been 66
Spring brings thoughts of her always.

We would celebrate her birthday on the long weekend of May.
Picking leeks and sucker fishing when we were young.
The new growth brings with it a bitter sweet feeling
full of fond memories and the reality of her absence
I try not to be blue in the spring sunshine
but I think I always will have a sense of loss this time of year.

The trees are trying out the sun.
The colour green is part of the landscape once again;
Plans for outside activities are being pondered.
Hope for a renewed earth are all around
Staying focused on all these things helps,
knowing Spring is a time of magic and wonder.
Swings and swimming are just around the corner,
Marshmallow roasts around a campfire are close at hand.
Gardens to tend , flowers of colour to see
All the best is yet to be

I miss you mom
I miss you dad

I keep going ;looking for colour and sunshine
Looking for Gnome's in trees and fairies in the woodland.
I know they are there .... as a child I saw them all
And every now and then; I remember

The Magic of Spring !
